About The Position

Big Bend Regional Medical Center is a community medical provider serving the Big Bend region of Texas with emergency, laboratory, women’s, and surgical services. This Registered Nurse position is in the Women's Services Labor & Delivery Unit and is full-time on the day shift, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered with an 18-month commitment. The nurse evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care. The role includes assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, performing patient tests, and administering medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice. The nurse promotes patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care. The position calls for using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with creativity and latitude, and typically reports to a manager or head of a unit or department.

Requirements

Labor & Delivery experience is required.
Associate's degree and certification as a registered nurse are required.
Must have a license to practice professional nursing in Texas.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
