About The Position

Big Bend Regional Medical Center serves the Big Bend region of Texas with emergency, laboratory, women’s, and surgical services. The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements, and documents nursing care. The nurse assists physicians during examinations and procedures, performs patient tests, and administers medications within the scope of RN practice. The position promotes patient independence by setting care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills. The role relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, involves a variety of tasks, and expects creativity and latitude. It typically reports to a manager or head of a unit or department. This is a full-time day-shift position, with hours from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on a 7-on/7-off schedule. A flexible scheduling option is available. The position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus in exchange for an 18-month commitment.

Requirements

Associate degree.
Registered nurse certification.
License to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
