About The Position

Big Bend Regional Medical Center is a community medical provider serving the Big Bend region of Texas with emergency, laboratory, women’s, and surgical services. The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and assesses patient needs, formulates treatment plans, and provides respiratory therapy services defined in those plans. The role works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare staff. It relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, involves a variety of tasks, and requires a degree of creativity and latitude. The position typically reports to a manager.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Must be registered or certified.
• Current Texas RCP License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Nice To Haves

• NRP is preferred but not required at time of hire.
• Neonatal and pediatric experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients’ needs and formulate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory therapy services defined in treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare staff.
• Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
