About The Position

Big Bend Regional Medical Center is a community medical provider serving the Big Bend region of Texas with emergency, laboratory, women’s, and surgical services. The Registered Nurse works in the Emergency Department and evaluates assigned patients, plans and provides nursing care, and documents that care. The nurse assists physicians with examinations and procedures, performs patient tests, and administers medications within the scope of registered nursing practice. The role supports patient independence through care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care. It relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, involves a variety of tasks, and offers a wide degree of creativity and latitude. The position typically reports to a manager or head of a unit or department. This is a full-time night-shift role, 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a 7-on/7-off schedule and a flexible scheduling option. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered with an 18-month commitment.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Certification as a registered nurse.
• License to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
