About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN II) – Surgery provides nursing care in the surgical department at Texas Health Fort Worth. The department is fast-paced and high-volume, averaging 75 surgeries per day, and performs high-acuity procedures. Surgical offerings include robotics, complex spine and orthopedic trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases. The nurse delivers patient care using the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The role incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responds to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintains continuity of care across shifts, hospitals, and transfers out of the hospital. The position is full-time, day shift, with a 36-hour work week. Texas Health Fort Worth is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
Current RN licensure upon hire.
BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves
