About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in Radiology at a hospital-level interventional radiology unit within a level 1 trauma center in Rochester, New York. The role involves supporting pre-procedural preparation, post-procedural recovery, and overnight observation for interventional radiology patients across inpatient and outpatient populations. No prior IR experience is required for this position. The assignment is for a 17-week contract with a shift of 10-hour nights, four days a week (Monday-Thursday), with no weekends or call required. The weekly pay range is $2,475–$2,569.

Requirements

New York RN license (active)
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association certifications
Telemetry experience required
Two (2) years of interventional radiology nursing experience
Two (2) years of medical-surgical experience
Registered Nurse education as required for licensure

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures and provide post-procedural recovery and overnight observation care.
Manage 23-hour care for IR patients and support patients boarding overnight pre- or post-procedure.
Monitor telemetry and respond to patient changes; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Support care for CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, X-ray, and ultrasound patients as part of the diagnostic imaging team.
Communicate clearly with patients and families; document care and ensure safety and comfort during the pre/post procedures.
Adapt to a high-energy environment with a focus on accuracy, critical thinking, and organized care delivery.
