About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology located in Columbia, Missouri. The assignment begins on August 24, 2026, and lasts for 13 weeks. The role involves providing care in a hospital-based Interventional Radiology service, with a focus on procedural support, patient monitoring, and radiation safety. The nurse will work a rotating 5x8 schedule, including weekday daytime hours and participation in a weekend and weeknight call rotation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform IV insertion and PICC/central line management; capable of vascular device access and care.
• Telemetry interpretation and basic cardiac skills including cardioversion/defibrillation (required); related knowledge for procedural support.
• Procedural sedation skills (airway management and sedation for invasive procedures); comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with interventional radiology-focused procedures and sedation for invasive procedures; familiarity with units performing Port placements/removals, CT biopsies, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, and related interventions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, radiologists, and the care team; able to adapt quickly to new environments and manage multiple responsibilities across departments.
• Weekend and weeknight call rotation availability; able to participate in on-call coverage as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and recognize potential complications; communicate findings to radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide procedural sedation and monitoring for invasive procedures (e.g., port placements/removals, CT biopsies, IVC filter placements/removals, nephrostomy tubes, neurovascular interventions for stroke) and non-invasive activities (sedation for MRIs, port access/ deaccess, MRI monitoring of devices).
• Implement and uphold radiation safety measures pertinent to interventional procedures; collaborate with radiology staff and physicians to optimize patient care.
• Manage invasive lines and vascular access (IV insertion, PICC/central line management, vascular device care); assist with line-related procedures and device management.
• Monitor patient status during and after procedures, interpret basic telemetry data, and respond to emergent situations; maintain 1:1 patient ratio for procedural sedation as required.
• Circulate in OBGYN/OR-related tasks when applicable and support the procedural team during interventional cases.
