About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Recovery Unit (PACU) located in Nashua, NH. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with guaranteed 40 hours per week on the day shift in a hospital setting. The role involves providing direct patient care in the PACU, maintaining unit competencies, participating in quality improvement, and ensuring effective communication for patient safety and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Active New Hampshire RN license
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required (except for Pre-Admission Testing and Operating Room)
  • Ability to work in a hospital PACU environment and meet unit requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to orientation
  • NHISS certification preferred or obtained prior to orientation
  • 3 years of critical care experience preferred
  • Graduate of an approved nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia recovery unit under medical staff direction, following policies and care plans.
  • Maintain unit-specific competencies for critically ill patients; participate in quality improvement efforts; complete clinical documentation and care plans in a timely manner.
  • Communicate patient information effectively during handoffs, rounds, and physician interactions to support continuity and patient safety.
  • Promote a safe environment by following established protocols, supporting patient safety initiatives, and contributing to Just Culture practices; escalate issues through the chain of command.
  • Conduct hourly rounding in collaboration with licensed nursing assistants; identify and address patient safety concerns; collaborate across departments to resolve conflicts and improve care.
  • Assist with procedural nursing duties as appropriate, including involvement with Flow wire, Opsens and IVUS procedures; demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion; safely administer procedural sedation and document sedation per policy; participate in ongoing sedation competency activities.
