About The Position

This is a travel assignment in postoperative care, providing recovery support for adult patients. The role is in a fast-paced, high-volume PACU with rotating day/evening/night coverage, including holidays and weekends. On-call and callbacks are required. This travel role is in a surgical services setting designed for experienced PACU nurses who thrive in a team environment and prioritize patient safety and clear communication.

Requirements

Active RN license in New York (NY RN license required)
PACU experience required
BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association) required
At least 2 years of RN experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced PACU setting and to participate in rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends
Comfortable with on-call and callback responsibilities as part of the assignment

ICU experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide post-anesthesia care for adult patients transitioning from anesthesia to recovery
Monitor vitals, pain scores, device function, and fluid status; respond to unstable conditions per protocol
Administer medications and monitor patient response under physician orders; document findings accurately
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and smooth handoffs
Assess readiness for transfer or discharge from PACU; communicate patient status to receiving units
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record and adhere to safety and infection control standards
