About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) at a hospital in Watertown, NY. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026. The position offers a weekly pay range of $2,525–$2,647 with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The shift is a weekday day schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will require weekend/holiday coverage and on-call duties.

Requirements

Current New York State RN license
BLS required
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
On-call required with a 30-minute response time
Demonstrated knowledge in sterile technique and operating room instrumentation
Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias and respond to intraoperative emergencies
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
Able to recognize safety issues and use patient lifts to move individuals safely

Nice To Haves

ACLS preferred
Preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs

Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care in the OR, including patient assessment, monitoring, and readiness of the sterile field.
Assist with positioning, draping, instrument handling, and turnover to support the surgical team.
Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards; anticipate needs of the surgeon and anesthesia team.
Monitor intraoperative patient status, document events, and participate in safe patient transfer to the post-anesthesia or recovery area.
Ensure equipment and supplies are prepared and available; troubleshoot basic equipment issues as needed.
May assume duties as a charge nurse and participate in on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.
