About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse – OR in Clearlake, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks and will be based in a hospital-based Surgical Services/Operating Room. The OR nurse provides professional intraoperative care within the Surgical Services Department, coordinating care with the perioperative team.

Requirements

Active RN license (California)
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN accepted)
BLS certification required
Ability to work in a surgical environment and endure 10-hour shifts; ability to stand for extended periods
Effective communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

Prior OR/perioperative nursing experience preferred
ACLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Provide professional intraoperative nursing care to patients across the age spectrum in the OR, under the direction of the perioperative team.
Collaborate with surgeons, circulators, scrub nurses, and anesthesia personnel to plan and execute patient care during procedures.
Maintain sterile technique, adhere to infection control practices, and ensure patient safety, positioning, instrument and sponge counts.
Monitor patient status intraoperatively, document care, and communicate changes to the team promptly.
Support departmental operations as needed, including float coverage across perioperative services when required.
