About The Position

This is a travel assignment for an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Mammoth Lakes, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 10/05/2026. The role involves working in a hospital-based operating room that handles orthopedic, general, and ENT cases. Guaranteed hours are 36 per week, with pay ranging from $2,191 to $2,371 weekly. The shift is a 12-hour day shift, and holiday and weekend coverage, as well as call coverage, are required.

Requirements

• State of California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS required
• Minimum of two years of operating room experience
• Ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork
• Comfortable with orthopedics (Arthrex, Depuy, Synthes), general, and ENT procedures

Nice To Haves

• Cerner electronic health record experience
• CNOR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Initiate and implement a patient-centered plan of care for surgical patients, based on nursing diagnoses and standards of care in the OR
• Maintain a sterile field, anticipate equipment and supply needs, and assist with positioning and instrument handling during procedures
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and anesthesia-related information; communicate changes to the surgical team
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and ancillary staff to ensure patient safety, asepsis, and efficient case flow
• Reassess patient status intra- and post-operatively, adjust the plan of care as needed, and participate in handoffs to PACU/stern teams
