About The Position

Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) for a travel assignment in a hospital setting located in Boston, MA. This assignment requires proficiency across multiple surgical services and a flexible approach to the OR schedule. The contract duration is 14 weeks, with a start date of 10/05/2026. Weekly pay ranges from $2,693 to $2,848, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Requirements

• 2+ years of inpatient OR experience; level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• Scrub experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Competent in at least five of the listed surgical service areas; able to adapt to a multi-specialty OR environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume OR setting and communicate effectively with the surgical team.

Nice To Haves

• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for adult and pediatric patients across multiple surgical specialties, including general, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine.
• Scrub and circulate in the operating room, maintain sterile technique, anticipate instrument needs, and assist the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery; assist anesthesia and respond to intraoperative events with composure and clear communication.
• Document patient care activities, equipment usage, and postoperative handoffs; ensure patient safety and adherence to best-practice protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulating staff, and post-anesthesia care to optimize outcomes; participate in turnover and room readiness.
• May float to another OR area as needed to support service lines; comply with scheduling requirements including on-call and weekend/holiday coverage.
