About The Position

Registered Nurse – NICU needed for a travel assignment in Pennington, New Jersey. This is an 8-week assignment with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. A night shift is available, requiring every other weekend and every other holiday. The position is in a Level III NICU within a hospital setting, which includes 12 intensive care bassinets and an additional 15 Level II bassinets. The unit utilizes Cerner for its electronic medical records. Prior travel experience is strongly preferred, and an NJ or compact nursing licensure is required at the time of submission. BLS and NRP certifications are also necessary.

Requirements

Active RN license in New Jersey or a compact state at time of submission
BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
Ability to work the specified night shift and meet every other weekend/holiday requirements

Nice To Haves

Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
Experience in a Level III NICU setting and Cerner EMR familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in the NICU, including continuous monitoring and regular patient assessments
Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; manage basic respiratory support and assist with ventilator care as directed
Perform NICU-specific procedures (e.g., venipuncture, line maintenance, IV access) and manage equipment safety
Document all patient data in the Cerner EMR, ensure accurate charting, and communicate changes to the care team
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary staff; support families with education and counseling as needed
Maintain strict infection control practices, patient safety protocols, and unit-specific policies
