Registered Nurse New Graduate Fast-Track Application/Nurse Residency Program – Sentara RMH Medical Center
About The Position
This posting supports all new graduate Registered Nursing positions at Sentara RMH Medical Center, Harrisonburg, Virginia. It covers all statuses, shifts, and units currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience, providing the skills and support needed for a successful transition into professional practice. The program includes automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses at all 12 Sentara hospitals. After orientation, residents begin a 6-month program with hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Topics covered include career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
- Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice
Responsibilities
- Provide 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health.
- Participate in topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
