Registered Nurse New Graduate Fast-Track Application/Nurse Residency Program – Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center
About The Position
This posting supports all new grad Registered Nursing positions at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Woodbridge, Virginia. All statuses/shifts are available. All units are currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience, providing the skills and support needed for a successful transition into professional practice. The program offers automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses, is available at all 12 Sentara hospitals, and begins right after orientation. It includes 6 months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Topics covered include career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
- Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice
- Less than 12 months of experience
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 6-month Nurse Residency Program with hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors.
- Engage in learning topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
- Transition into professional nursing practice with support and guidance.
