About The Position
This posting supports all new grad Registered Nursing positions at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia. It covers all statuses, shifts, and units currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience, designed to provide the skills and support needed for a successful transition into professional practice. The program includes automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses, is available at all 12 Sentara hospitals, and begins right after orientation. It offers 6 months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Topics covered include career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
- Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice
Responsibilities
- Provide 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in 6 areas: Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health.
- Participate in topics such as career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
