Registered Nurse New Graduate Fast-Track Application/Nurse Residency Program – Sentara Albemarle Medical Center
About The Position
This posting supports all new grad Registered Nursing positions at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. All statuses/shifts and all units are currently placing new graduate Registered Nurses. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for newly graduated Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience, providing skills and support for a successful transition into professional practice. The program includes automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses, available at all 12 Sentara hospitals. After orientation, residents begin a 6-month program with hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency, Operating Room, and Women's Health. Topics covered include career pathing, professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice.
Nice To Haves
- Less than 12 months of RN practice experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse.
- Participate in the Nurse Residency Program for 6 months.
- Gain hands-on experience in various specialty areas.
- Engage in professional development, leadership, self-care, and stress management training.
