About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Medical ICU (MICU) unit located in Lawrenceville, GA. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role involves providing direct bedside nursing care to critically ill adult patients, administering medications, managing IV therapy, monitoring vital signs and ventilator support, performing invasive procedures, conducting neuro assessments, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Accurate documentation in the electronic medical record is essential.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIHSS competency or certification required
Minimum of 2 years of recent MICU experience
Ability to work in a high-acuity MICU environment and maintain patient safety

Nice To Haves

Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct bedside nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the MICU, including frequent assessment and documentation of status.
Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapy, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Monitor ventilator support and hemodynamic parameters; interpret trends and escalate changes to the care team.
Perform and assist with invasive procedures as assigned (e.g., line placement, arterial sampling) and ensure adherence to infection prevention practices.
Conduct neuro assessments as indicated (NIHSS when applicable) and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members; document care accurately in the electronic medical record.
