About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Medical-Surgical unit in a Critical Access Hospital located in Fort Bragg, California. The assignment is temporary, lasting 13 weeks, with a start date of 10/12/2026. The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, administering medications and treatments, and documenting patient care. The nurse will also participate in discharge planning, patient education, and support the nursing team. This position offers guaranteed hours and dedicated travel support.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice (California) or eligible for licensure
• Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved vendor
• ACLS certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) Required
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Ability to work in an acute care Med/Surg setting and align with a 3x12-hour day shift schedule
• Must meet facility and assignment-specific requirements as applicable

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred; ADN with relevant Med/Surg experience may be considered if otherwise qualified

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient population in Med/Surg, following the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, supervise assigned staff, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure safe, effective care
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Document care in the electronic health record, ensuring accuracy, privacy, and compliance with policy
• Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and continuity of care across transitions
• Delegate appropriately and support the nursing team to maintain a safe and healing environment
• Provide education and learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members
