About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical unit located in Fort Bragg, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/12/2026, with guaranteed 48 hours per week. The role involves providing direct, patient-centered nursing care in a 25-bed critical access facility. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medications, collaborating with healthcare teams, and supervising staff. Documentation will be done in the electronic health record (EPIC).

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of California (or state of practice)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum two years of recent Med Surg experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment and meet assignment requirements

Nice To Haves

• EPIC experience preferred
• BSN is preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care for Med Surg in accordance with the nursing process and established standards.
• Assess data, formulate a care plan, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapy as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other disciplines to coordinate care and ensure a safe, healing environment.
• Supervise and direct activities of licensed and support staff; delegate tasks appropriately and supervise assigned personnel.
• Participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and document care in the electronic health record (EPIC).
