About The Position

This is a travel assignment in a hospital setting on a 20-bed Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit. The role supports adults and geriatrics with cardiovascular issues and wound care, requiring multidisciplinary teamwork and utilizing dedicated unit resources. The assignment is located in Rochester, New York, with a start date of 10/05/2026 and a duration of several weeks. The shift is 3x12 Nights.

Requirements

Active New York RN license in-hand
BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (required)
MS/Tele clinical skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management; rapid response/code team use
IV therapy and phlebotomy competency; peripheral line care
Ability to float to Med/Surg-level assignments on MS, ICU, and ED units
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
First-time travel nurses accepted
EPIC experience preferred
Local candidates within 75 miles of the assignment location are not accepted

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on the MS/Tele unit, including monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
Respond to rapid responses and codes; participate in the rapid response team as needed to ensure patient safety.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary) to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Deliver wound care, use wound VAC as indicated, and enforce infection control and PPE precautions; manage isolation needs.
Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred); maintain accurate charting and support cross-unit floating to MS, ICU, and ED within scope.
Complete onboarding and orientation requirements (on-site and classroom) as part of start-up processes.
