About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery in Helena, MT. The role is based in a hospital setting and requires experience in obstetric care, including operating room circulator duties. The nurse will provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care, monitor fetal status, assist in procedures, administer medications, document patient care, and may be required to float to Medical-Surgical, ICU, or Emergency Department units for overflow coverage.

Requirements

Active Montana license or a compact RN license; must be active and on file at submission.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN fetal heart monitoring required; all certs on file at submission.
Minimum 2 years of obstetric/related clinical experience.
OB experience with OR circulator duties required.
EMR: Epic experience required.
OB/ L&D experience with ability to float to MS, ICU, ER as needed.
Within 70 miles of Helena, MT preferred for this assignment.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive obstetric nursing care for labor, delivery, and postpartum patients, including rapid assessment and ongoing monitoring.
Monitor fetal status using fetal heart monitoring per AWHONN standards; respond to pattern changes and collaborate with the care team.
Assist in labor and delivery and fulfill OR circulator duties during obstetric procedures; maintain sterile technique and patient safety.
Administer medications and analgesia as prescribed; support anesthesia as needed; manage IVs and patient comfort.
Document patient care, progress, and events in the EMR (Epic); coordinate with physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary staff.
May float to Medical-Surgical, ICU, or Emergency Department units to assist with stable adult patients and overflow coverage as directed.
