The registered nurse is a clinical practitioner who implements and coordinates patient care for the population served. The nurse ensures quality care is delivered effectively and safely, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and within the scope of practice established by the State of Washington. The position requires performance consistent with Pullman Regional Hospital’s mission, vision, values, relationship-based care principles, philosophy of care, and unit and organizational goals. The Critical Care RN provides nursing team support during Code responses and other hospital-wide critical situations. Critical care staff may cross-train and float to other departments to remain productive and available in-house for emergencies when critical care unit volumes do not require full staffing. Because local critical care volumes do not support a fully staffed critical care area at all times, critical care staff and beds may provide overflow support for patients at all levels of care. Staffing assignments are adjusted as patient care intensity changes. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week. The base pay range is $42.43–$83.95 per hour; offered pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
