About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Springfield, MA. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/07/2026, with a shift of 3x12 Nights. The role involves providing direct bedside nursing care to adults on medical-tele and intermediate care units, including patients requiring respiratory support. The nurse will monitor patient status, administer medications, manage IV lines, respond to emergencies, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, document in the medical record, and participate in care planning. Routine assessments, telemetry monitoring, and assisting with complex care needs are also key responsibilities. The position requires the ability to float to med-tele and IMC units as needed and involves supporting patient and family education, discharge planning, and adherence to protocols.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Placement Agency License and Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Must have experience with trachs, vents, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry
  • Must be located outside a 90-mile radius from the facility
  • Ability to float to other units (med-tele and IMC) as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of ICU/med-tele/IMC experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to adults on medical-tele and intermediate care units, including patients on trachs, vents, and noninvasive respiratory support.
  • Monitor patient status, administer medications, manage IV lines and devices, and respond to emergencies with rapid assessment and escalation as needed.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, document in the medical record, and participate in care planning and rounding.
  • Perform routine assessments, monitor telemetry, and assist with complex care needs such as cardiac drips and BiPAP, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
  • Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and adherence to infection control and clinical protocols.
