About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a travel assignment in Springfield, Massachusetts. The position is located in a Medical Intermediate Care Unit that combines medical-telemetry and step-down care. The assignment is for a 13-week duration, starting on 09/07/2026, with a weekly pay range of $2,385–$2,494 for 36 guaranteed hours per week. The shift consists of three 12-hour night shifts. This is a temporary assignment in an inpatient, acute care environment.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Massachusetts.
• Massachusetts placement agency license and Massachusetts temporary nursing service agency license required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with tracheostomies, ventilation support, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry.
• Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and float to related units as needed.
• Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from the assignment location.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of ICU/IMC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU-level nursing care within a Medical Intermediate Care Unit, including monitoring patients on telemetry, ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-flow oxygen.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips, assess and respond to clinical changes, and support emergent situations per protocol.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; participate in rounds; document patient status and plan of care in the EHR.
• Float to med-telemetry and IMC units as needed; maintain clinical competencies for a mixed medical-surgical population.
• Ensure patient and family education, safety, and infection control practices; adhere to ACLS and BLS standards.
