About The Position

Registered Nurse – ICU travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting, Geneva, NY. This is a travel temporary assignment requiring ICU-level care for adult, geriatric patients and involvement in an intensive care team. The role involves monitoring and caring for critically ill patients, administering medications, interpreting clinical data, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, documenting in the electronic medical record, performing neurological assessments, and supporting families. The assignment is for 23 weeks, with a start date of 09/21/2026. Weekly pay ranges from $2,080–$2,211. Shifts are 12 hours, either 7a–7p or 7p–7a, rotating.

Requirements

  • Active NYS Registered Nurse license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
  • NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency in NIHSS assessment
  • Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification within 90 days of hire
  • ICU experience or demonstrated capability in critical care nursing; ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including days and nights and holiday coverage as part of a FT ICU assignment

Nice To Haves

  • ENA certification within 2 years is preferred
  • TNCC recommended within 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU, including hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management as ordered
  • Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; titrate vasoactive infusions and manage sedation and analgesia
  • Interpret clinical data, respond to changes in patient status, and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other team members; participate in daily rounds and update care plans
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; maintain patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards
  • Provide neurological assessments using NIHSS as indicated and respond to emergencies with appropriate resuscitation measures
  • Support families with clear communication regarding prognosis and care plans while respecting age-specific needs and privacy
