About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Springfield, MA. The role involves providing direct bedside care for critically ill adults in a 32-bed ICU with Neuro Critical Care capabilities. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with 36 guaranteed hours per week, specifically for 3x12-hour Night shifts. The nurse may be required to float to MICU, SICU, and IMC units based on patient needs. This position is supported by Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Requirements

Active RN license appropriate for Massachusetts
Certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association)
1 year in a Level 1 ICU; or 2 years in MICU; ICU-specific adult critical care experience required
Graduate of an accredited RN program
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float to related ICU units as needed
Must be outside a 90-mile radius from the facility

Responsibilities

Provide direct bedside care for critically ill adults in the ICU, including monitoring acute changes and responding to deteriorations.
Manage ventilated patients and perform hemodynamic monitoring; administer and titrate vasoactive medications per orders.
Support kidney and other organ systems as needed, including care for ESRD/AKI patients and involvement with CRRT/CVVH when indicated.
Implement sepsis and respiratory failure protocols; assist with post-cardiac arrest care and complex airway management.
Collaborate with physicians, bedside nurses, respiratory therapy, pharmacists, and case management; document care thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
Maintain flexibility to float to MICU, SICU, and IMC according to unit needs while upholding patient safety and care standards.
