About The Position

This travel assignment is for nurses providing geriatric care within an inpatient acute care environment. The role involves delivering professional nursing care to hospitalized geriatric patients using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, documenting care in the electronic medical record (EPIC), and responding to emergencies.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in California; graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • One year of recent acute care RN experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification (or ARC-ALS) required with completion within 6 months of hire or transfer.
  • NRP certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course required on hire and every two years thereafter.
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS and AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certifications required as applicable.
  • EPIC experience is required.
  • LDRP model experience noted in job considerations.
  • No on-call requirement; ability to work in a high-acuity inpatient setting and adhere to hospital policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care to hospitalized geriatric patients using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patient responses and adjust care as needed.
  • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver patient-centered care; communicate with patients and families regarding care plans.
  • Document care, assessments, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EPIC) with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor for clinical changes, respond to emergencies, and uphold patient safety and comfort.
