About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) at a short-term acute care facility in Hanford, CA. The contract duration is 13 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026. The role involves delivering direct nursing care, assessing patients, administering medications, collaborating with healthcare teams, and participating in discharge planning. The position requires a Registered Nurse license in California, BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and at least two years of recent ER/acute care experience. A BSN is preferred. The role is for night shifts, working 3x12-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
BLS/CPR certification required
ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required
PALS or ARC-PALS certification required
At least two years of recent ER/acute care experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital ER setting and to work night shifts

Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care for a patient or group of patients in the ER according to established standards and the nursing process.
Assess patients, analyze data, and develop and implement care plans; monitor and adjust as needed.
Administer medications and treatments per orders; observe and document patient responses.
Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned nursing staff; collaborate with physicians and other disciplines.
Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and ongoing communication with patients and families.
Maintain a safe, healing environment; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure accurate charting.
