About The Position

This is a travel nursing assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) located in Utica, New York. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of October 19, 2026. The position offers guaranteed hours and a night shift schedule. The role involves providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Current New York RN license; active licensure with NURSYS verification required
  • AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC must be in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Travel experience required
  • Graduation from an approved nursing program; ability to practice in an ED setting
  • RTO (Reasonable Take Off) request must be included at time of submission
  • EPIC EMR experience
  • Ability to float as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatrics experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient status; administer medications and treatments per protocols
  • Triage patients, prioritize care, and manage acutely ill patients; coordinate with the ED interdisciplinary team
  • Assist with procedures, perform basic ED procedures, and operate/maintain essential ED equipment; document care in the EMR (EPIC)
  • Float to related units as needed and participate in patient discharge planning and education for patients and families
  • Care for a broad patient population including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics; respond promptly to rapid changes in patient condition
