About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in Endoscopy located in Bangor, Maine. The assignment is for 13 weeks and starts on 09/28/2026. The role is in a hospital setting and involves a scheduled day-shift in an intensive clinical area. The RN will perform patient care functions under the supervision of the Unit Director, with direct supervision for the shift provided by the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse. This position is suitable for both local and traveling RNs.

Requirements

Active Maine RN license or compact license
ASN required
BLS certification
ACLS certification
IV certification
Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in a day-shift schedule
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Capacity to multitask and prioritize care

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Endoscopy or related procedural experience; 1–3 years preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the medical team to deliver direct patient care for endoscopy patients, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure monitoring.
Assist endoscopy procedures, maintain sterile technique, prepare rooms and equipment, and manage IV access and medications as ordered.
Monitor patient status during procedures, document vital signs, and provide post-procedure recovery care in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines.
Ensure accurate documentation of care, procedure notes, and patient education; communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and during handoffs.
Adhere to requirements from the Maine Board of Nursing and hospital policies; practice patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement principles.
Demonstrate teamwork and strong communication, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
