About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in Dundee, Kansas. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 10/04/2026. The position involves 12-hour night shifts (3x12) and includes virtual orientation prior to the start date. The role focuses on providing comprehensive ED nursing care for acutely ill or injured patients.

Requirements

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC
Minimum 1 year of ER experience
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, with weekend rotation and unit float within scope of practice
Virtual orientation scheduled on start date; 8 hours non-billable orientation
Licensure requirements are defined by the assignment notes; follow applicable regulatory standards for ER nursing in the listed location

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive ED nursing care for acutely ill or injured patients, including initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
Administer medications and treatments, perform nursing procedures, monitor responses, and document findings in the electronic health record.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team to develop and adjust patient care plans; support patient flow and safety.
Respond to emergencies and code events per established protocols; initiate rapid assessment and interventions as needed.
Educate patients and families about treatments, discharge planning, and post-ED care; ensure infection control and safety standards are maintained.
Float to units within scope of practice as needed; adhere to unit policies and maintain professional standards.
