About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department in Utica, NY. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026, with a weekly pay range of $2,458–$2,551 and guaranteed 36 hours per week. The shift is nights with a 2x3 schedule, and the setting is an emergency department clinical environment within a hospital. Requirements

  • Active NY Registered Nurse license; NURSYS license verification; RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission.
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications in hand.
  • 2+ years of Emergency Department experience.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Travel experience required.
  • EMR experience required, specifically EPIC.
  • Driver’s license with a current address that matches demographics.
  • Up-to-date resume reflecting ED experience and travel nursing.
  • Ability to float to other ED areas and work in a high-acuity setting.
  • Locals within 75 miles may be considered at local rate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to ED patients across age groups, including triage, initial assessment, stabilization, monitoring, and ongoing treatment.
  • Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and utilize specialty equipment (e.g., Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) as ordered.
  • Monitor vital signs, interpret abnormal findings, respond to emergencies, and participate in code/rapid response events as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, case management, and ancillary staff; document care in the EMR (EPIC) and ensure accurate, timely handoffs.
  • Support cross-coverage across ED areas as required; participate in patient flow, discharge planning, and patient-family education.
  • Maintain unit standards, infection control practices, and patient safety during high-acuity care.
  • Ensure compliance with required certifications and unit expectations, including the ability to serve as a charge-capable nurse when needed.
