About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in San Luis Obispo, California. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics within the ED. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/07/2026, with a shift of three 12-hour night blocks per week, guaranteeing 36 hours weekly. The weekly pay is estimated between $1,736 and $1,791.

Requirements

Current RN license in the state of practice
Associate Degree in Nursing required
Minimum two years of recent nursing experience in acute care or emergency settings
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required (TNCC within 6 months of hire or transfer)
NIHSS certification required
AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS and AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS required
Ability to work a 3x12-night schedule
Ability to work in a high-volume ED/acute care setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
EPIC experience preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the ED, including triage, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics.
Review and complete orders promptly; provide medication teaching and document discharge instructions.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and manage indwelling lines and monitored equipment.
Recognize and respond to cardiac, respiratory, and other emergent conditions; participate in life-saving interventions and emergency activations.
Interpret ECG rhythms, monitor patient status, and coordinate with the ED team to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate, legible documentation and adhere to unit policies and chain of command.
