About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital in Saint Helena, California. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a 3x12-hour day shift. The role involves providing coordinated nursing care for Cath Lab patients, from pre-procedure assessment through post-procedure recovery, in collaboration with the interventional team. Responsibilities include medication administration, hemodynamic monitoring, maintaining sterile technique, electronic health record documentation (EPIC), and patient/family education. The nurse will also participate in discharge planning and may supervise assigned staff.

Requirements

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; CPR acceptable per policy
ACLS (AHA) or ARC-ALS certification
EPIC experience required
Minimum two years of recent RN experience in the field; acute care or Cath Lab exposure preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver coordinated nursing care for Cath Lab patients, including pre-procedure assessment, monitoring during procedures, and post-procedure recovery in collaboration with the interventional team.
Administer medications, manage hemodynamic status, and maintain sterile technique to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Document care activities and patient status in the electronic health record (EPIC), and communicate changes with physicians, technologists, and other team members.
Participate in discharge planning and provide patient/family education to support continuity of care.
Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned staff as needed, while maintaining a safe, healing environment.
Collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
