About The Position
Valparaiso Family Dentistry is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join its team and provide exceptional patient care in a supportive, welcoming practice environment. The hygienist will facilitate communication between dentists and patients, provide preventive dental care, conduct screenings and radiographic studies, document dental conditions, and perform additional procedures in accordance with professional standards and regulations. The position offers competitive base compensation with potential monthly incentives, with higher rates available for assisted hygiene. The stated office schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The employer also offers benefits, training, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license, or an application for new graduates awaiting licensure.
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and understanding between dentists and patients.
- Perform thorough dental prophylaxis and preventive care to maintain and improve oral health.
- Conduct regular oral cancer screenings to detect early signs of cancer.
- Take and analyze X-rays to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Accurately chart decay, disease, and other dental conditions in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
- Perform additional dental procedures in accordance with professional standards and regulations.
