About The Position

Ergon is seeking a Regional Technical Operations Manager based in Phoenix, Arizona. The role manages technical needs for all Crafco brand product offerings, including crack sealants, mastics, and waterproofing materials. It serves as a communication hub among Management, Production, Lab, Plant/Manufacturing Operations, Sales, and Marketing. The position supports plant operations and product quality across the network, manages formulation and quality systems, and helps advance technologies from concept through commercialization and plant production. The role requires travel at least 50% of the time, and the candidate must be located near a major airport hub. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver’s license. Employment offers are contingent upon a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR. Ergon is a family-owned company with locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico and describes itself as relationship-driven, with a small-company feel.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 5 years of experience without a degree.
A bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field is preferred; significant asphalt technology experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
Excellent management, communication, and computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
Located near a major airport hub for ease of transportation.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience formulating and supporting polymer-modified asphalt, particularly roofing, waterproofing, crack sealant, and mastic products.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Provide timely technical support and communication to PCR plants producing crack sealants, aggregate-filled repair mastics, bulk roofing, and waterproofing products, including formulation support, troubleshooting, product QA/QC, quality-failure investigations, audits, and facilitation of related systems.
Facilitate operational consistency in assets and procedures throughout the plant network.
Manage formulation processes with Paragon and Crafco MQT to optimize plant efficiency and raw material costs.
Oversee the Quality Management system to ensure compliance with Crafco, PPM, and Agency Plan requirements.
Work with Sales and Technical Marketing to provide feedback on field performance of products and applications.
Work with supply and procurement to evaluate and select raw materials for facilities.
Establish technological processes to benchmark assets, chemistry, and raw materials available in and outside the asphalt industry.
Support facilities through routine interaction with operations, marketing, and technical marketing.
Partner with local labs and Engineering departments to advance new products and technologies from concept through commercialization.
Manage deployment of plant assets, chemistry, and other resources to deliver technologies.
Scale up processes from laboratory work to plant production.
Participate in product and process evaluation, development, and execution of strategic technology initiatives.
Participate in developing, presenting, and implementing new ideas, concepts, assets, and chemistries for A&E management consideration.
