About The Position

Mallard Creek Polymers is seeking a qualified Regional Sales Manager - Midwest to join our team. This role involves managing accounts in a geographic and/or market territory to promote growth in sales and customer knowledge of Mallard Creek Polymers emulsion products. The position requires coordinating and utilizing technical services and other company resources to build rapport with customers and increase business for existing and new products on a regular basis. The role also involves investigating and building new sales through innovative ideas, maintaining correspondence and customer contact, and continually developing new contacts within assigned accounts.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical field is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in specialty chemical sales, with preference to experience in water-based formulations
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Travel to customer sites via necessary transportation such as car or plane
  • Navigate customer sites, such as tours of facility
  • Work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Wear PPE as needed at plant/customer sites
  • Home office is required

Responsibilities

  • Project and achieve monthly / annual sales objectives/goals for territory and by specific customer
  • Maintain and develop existing relationships at accounts while identifying and building new ones
  • Organize customer visits
  • Attend industry trade shows and seminars
  • Search for new business and new business potential; nurture leads in territory developing sales to new prospects
  • Promote company products, image and strengths
  • Understand, manage, relate and provide solutions to problems identified at assigned customers
  • Understand product applications and uses
  • Research for and communicate market intelligence
  • Provide all information required for demand planning, value growth pipeline and call reports
  • Collaborate with technical staff, purchasing, supply chain and leaders at new and assigned accounts
  • Other duties as needed or assigned
