About The Position

The Regional Manager (RM) provides support and management to staff and volunteers of the Service Extension programs and fund raising in assigned regions. This position serves but is not limited to Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, Franklin, Adams, York, Dauphin, and Lebanon Counties.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to establish and maintain a dedicated office at home.
  • Active in local Community Service Organization and/or Church Organization.
  • Residence within the assigned service region is strongly preferred due to the position’s extensive field-based responsibilities and regular travel throughout the assigned region.
  • Requires a High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 3 years of related work experience.
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
  • A valid driver’s license and approval to operate a Salvation Army vehicle are required.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153, including the PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must possess an understanding of and support for the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in establishing and maintaining fundraising efforts for each Service Unit in their region, in collaboration with Community Relations & Development when appropriate.
  • Monitors existing Service Extension Programs.
  • Ensures strict adherence to internal controls on funds, vehicles, wills, and other legal documents.
  • Serves as a liaison between Service Units and Divisional Headquarters staff.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops new committee chairpersons, members, and volunteers.
  • Personally visits all Service Units within their assigned area.
  • Assists with annual budget development.
  • Ensures effective marketing and public relations activities.
  • Provides resources and materials to support community programs.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new programs.
  • Identifies opportunities for systemic improvements.
  • Attends Service Unit meetings and regional events.
  • Actively participates in United Way meetings and community service groups.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Trains volunteers in proper record-keeping.
  • Supports divisional responses and large-scale events.
  • Exercises sound judgment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Undertakes such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
