Requirements

  • University degree or comparable qualification in insurance, law, risk management or a related field
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Skills and knowledge within international transportation- and commercial law
  • Contract review experience
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple insurance lines including cargo, FFL, EL, property, liability and D&O.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stakeholder manage across the organization, geographies and cultures
  • Excellent written and verbal English and preferably at least one other language spoken in region where applicable
  • Team player with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment as a member or a leader
  • Responsive to business inquiries (key)

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for Insurance Management in the region including the Insurance Management team
  • Support implementation of Global Insurance Programs in the region, including policy issuance and payment
  • Ensure adequate cover at local level and oversee all local placements and investigate and implement regional programs
  • Oversee underwriting of risks of the Property and Cargo program under a delegated authority
  • Support product development
  • Support with IT and other projects for implementation regionally
  • Support business operations with expert advice
  • Support the Insurance sales and local sales departments in achieving cargo insurance sales goals
  • Communication of insurance structure, requirements and performance to regional, cluster and country management
  • Training the business on Insurance Management functions
  • Support ONE Group Services team in the region
  • Team leadership and development
  • Place local policies, negotiating premiums, conditions, and coverage, integrating into regional or global programs where possible.
  • Underwriting of risks within Cargo and Property program under delegated authority
  • Support on cargo insurance sales including sales campaigns and local sales materials
  • Support insurance-related reporting to regional and local management
  • Training of the business (in particular National Insurance Coordinators) on insurance in the region, advising stakeholders on marine, non-marine, and personal lines of insurance, ensuring adequate coverage and documentation
  • Support and train operations, sales and pricing teams on how to submit referrals and support during the referral process
  • Development of key persons (ambassadors/champions) for sales support
  • Proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders in the Region, particularly CFO’s and country managers, regarding coverage changes, insurances, claims and premium discussions, ensuring alignment with business needs and support where required
  • Build a network of insurance champions and support them with questions and requests as they come up (NICs)
  • Guide the use of processes and tools for quoting, referrals, presenting and insuring
  • Support managers and directors in RFQs for insurance (cargo, EL, FFL, third-party stocks)
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs for insurance management.
  • Support business in the region commercially or in managing risks or disputes that arise where Group Services senior representation is required
  • Resolve invoicing and payment irregularities related to insurance premiums.
  • Provide weekly report in line with Group and Group Services requirements, and ensure this requirement is cascaded through the RGS organization in the region to ensure transparency
  • Report regularly to the Regional Head of Group Services and the VP, Insurance Management, with recommendations for coverage, wording, claims handling, and risk prevention improvements.
  • Participate actively in regional and global meetings and projects.
