About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring a Regional Class A Tanker Driver for its safety-conscious team in E. Chicago, Indiana. The route runs from E. Chicago to Ohio, Kansas, and Canada, averaging 65 hours per week, with weekly home time. Drivers average $120,000–$130,000 per year, or $2,400–$2,500 weekly. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available. Compensation includes hourly wages for all on-duty non-driving time, overtime, and per diem. The role involves operating tractor-trailer tanker units and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste while following company safety practices and applicable Department of Transportation requirements.

Requirements

Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
At least 12 months of Class A driving experience.
At least 3 months of tanker experience.
HAZMAT and tanker endorsements.
Ability to climb and work from heights.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
Ability to effectively use required technology, including mobile applications and computer software.

Responsibilities

Make health and safety the top priority by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely at all times.
Operate tractor-trailer tanker units.
Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of units.
Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is properly loaded and unloaded, and secure loads appropriately.
Placard vehicles according to company and Department of Transportation requirements and regulations.
Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
