About The Position

Join Fairmont’s Canadian Western Mountain Region Sales Team and represent the top four resorts in Western Canada: The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, The Fairmont Banff Springs, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the Regional Sales Manager for Southern Alberta will be responsible for leading sales initiatives within the given market to ensure goals at each property are exceeded. This individual should be experienced, creative and positive!

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree
• 2 to 3 years of hotel Sales experience
• Must be results orientated with ability to be flexible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Computer literacy (SFA, Opera, Excel, Word)
• A team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
• Previous experience / knowledge in several market segments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for booking group business in the assigned Market.
• Active in developing new business and the promotion of existing business.
• Develop Sales action plan with quarterly quotas (Room Nights / Sales Activities).
• Determine and recommend prospective customers from market information.
• Keep accurate records of potential customers & follow through on all potential business.
• Quote and negotiate prices within established parameters.
• Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with convention services, catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel’s promised services.
• Utilize SFA Sales System to track, solicit, book and follow up accounts.
• Develop relationships within the Global Sales Office network of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
• Participate in sites, fams, and industry trade shows.
• Schedule effective business trips and appointments within assigned markets.
• Participate in prescribed training and special projects.
• Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long term goals.
• Assist as directed, with development of competitive intelligence and in the preparation of the Marketing Plan, especially as it relates to the Corporate Meeting and Association markets assigned.
• Independently responsible for achievement of sales activities and all objectives outlined in the action plan.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
• Support and encourage positive team approach.
• Coach and Develop your support team
