About The Position
This full-time refrigeration maintenance position at Tyson Foods in Vernon, Texas is described as having openings for third shift. The role operates and maintains refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate maintains and troubleshoots refrigeration and HVAC equipment and may progress quickly through job levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills. Level and pay are determined during the interview based on skills, knowledge, and experience; third shift includes a shift increase. The job involves working with scissor lifts, scaffolds, industrial pallet jacks, chemicals, and lubricants, as well as welding, soldering, and assembling equipment. The employee must be available as a member of the emergency response team and complete a two-week trial period. A resume must be submitted. The work requires standing and walking throughout the shift, working 8–12-hour shifts, reaching, climbing, stooping or bending, lifting up to 70 pounds, working near moving mechanical parts, and working in humidity, cold, and heat. These requirements may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- Refrigeration/HVAC and electrical experience.
- At least 12 consecutive months of work history in a refrigeration-maintenance-related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be out of the probation period.
- Must not have more than 4.0 attendance points; selected candidate must maintain 4.0 points or less before transferring into the job.
- No written warnings or suspensions in the last six months.
- Must submit a resume.
- Must be willing and able to meet the stated physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be willing and able to work 8–12-hour shifts.
