About The Position

This full-time, third-shift refrigeration maintenance position is at Tyson Foods’ Vernon, Texas facility and is intended for team members currently working at this facility or complex. The position is responsible for operating and maintaining refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate will maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration and HVAC equipment and may progress through levels based on training completion and demonstrated on-the-job skills. Pay level is determined during the interview based on skillset, knowledge, and experience; a shift increase is available for third shift.

Requirements

Refrigeration/HVAC and electrical experience.
At least 12 consecutive months of work history in a refrigeration-maintenance-related field.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness and ability to work 8–12-hour shifts.
Willingness and ability to stand and walk throughout the shift; reach with hands and arms; climb; stoop or bend; and lift up to 70 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in humidity, cold, and heat.
Willingness and ability to serve on the emergency response team.
Must be out of the probation period, have no more than 4.0 attendance points, and have no written warnings or suspensions in the last six months.
Selected candidate must maintain 4.0 attendance points or less before transferring into the job.
