About The Position

This full-time, third-shift position at Tyson Foods in Vernon, Texas, is responsible for operating and maintaining refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate will maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The work involves scissor lifts, scaffolds, industrial pallet jacks, chemicals and lubricants, as well as welding, soldering and equipment assembly. This position is intended for team members currently working at this facility or complex. Team members at other Tyson facilities should express interest through their local HR Partner. Positions are available on third shift, and pay level is determined during the interview based on skills, knowledge and experience. Advancement through levels may be possible based on completed training and demonstrated job skills. The selected candidate will have a two-week trial period.

Requirements

Refrigeration/HVAC and electrical experience.
At least 12 consecutive months of work history in a refrigeration-maintenance-related field.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be willing and able to serve on the emergency response team.
Must be out of the probation period.
Must have no more than 4.0 attendance points and maintain 4.0 points or less before transferring into the job.
Must have no written warnings or suspensions in the last six months.
Must submit a resume.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: stand and walk throughout the shift; work 8–12-hour shifts; reach, climb, stoop or bend; lift up to 70 pounds; work near moving mechanical parts; and work in humidity, cold and heat.
