About The Position

The Referral Specialist will initiate and manage all components of clinical referrals for various services. This role involves setting up appointments and special arrangements such as transportation or interpreter services. The specialist will also verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations from insurance providers. They will act as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors, and patients or referral sources, coordinating the flow of information between the medical clinic and the referral authorization department to secure valid referrals for clinic patients. Additionally, the Referral Specialist will develop and maintain a database of referral physician offices preferred by each physician within the clinic and assist the Practice Manager with complaint resolution and solutions related to patient referrals. All referrals, documentation, communications, and actions will be entered and documented in the system.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years related experience in Healthcare environment (strongly preferred)
Strong customer skills
Good communication skills
Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
Team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
