About The Position

This position works directly with adults with disabilities to ensure the safe delivery of the Adaptive Adult Recreation Program. The Recreation Leader reports directly to the Adaptive Recreation Coordinator and assists with the implementation of programs, activities, and events for participants. Leaders are responsible for maintaining accurate documentation including attendance records, participant progress notes, transportation logs, and incident reports. This role maintains open communication with participants, their families, community partners, and staff to support participants and overall program quality. Leaders are responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Applicants must be age eighteen (18) years or older.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Ability to assist in the implementation of basic behavior support strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and interact professionally with the public.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate records, including attendance forms, participant progress notes, transportation logs, and incident reports.
• Safely implement and supervise recreation activities in a variety of settings, including recreation facilities and community locations.
• Foster participant engagement in both competitive and noncompetitive recreation activities.
• Safely transport participants to and from program locations using department vehicles.
• Assist with program setup, cleanup, and maintaining facilities during program use.
