About The Position

The City of Peoria is seeking a Recreation Leader I for the Adaptive Recreation Division. This position plays a vital role in meeting the needs of the adaptive population in and around Peoria. As a Recreation Leader I, you will work in various adaptive programs, including but not limited to: Special Olympics, Friday Night Dances, and the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Adult Day Program/Summer Program. The primary responsibilities for candidates hired through this recruitment will include assisting with Friday Night Dances and Special Olympics sports within the Adaptive Recreation Division. The mission of the City of Peoria’s Adaptive Recreation Division is: To provide a continuum of leisure opportunities and related services designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months work experience with individuals with disabilities
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate (must have current certification or be able to complete training)
  • Valid Arizona Class “D” Driver’s License upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • 18 years of age is preferred
