About The Position

The Recreation Coordinator facilitates recreational programs and activities for owners, members, and guests of Mystic Dunes, a Hilton Vacation Club. The role serves all age groups and adapts programming to participants’ needs and interests, resort requirements, and seasonal opportunities. The coordinator instructs classes and activities, helps deliver special events and holiday programs, and promotes participation by monitoring program content and preparing communication materials. The role also provides guest service, responds to inquiries, solves problems, and communicates to groups of varying sizes, including using a microphone in an entertainment capacity. The Recreation / Activities Department operates seven days a week, including holidays, with shifts scheduled within the 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. range. The schedule is provided upon hire, and paid training is offered.

Requirements

• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic desktop publishing applications.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates.
• Excellent guest-relations skills.
• Ability to interact with all age groups.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to complete job requirements and communicate with coworkers, guests, and owners.

• Previous customer service experience.

• Audio-visual equipment operation experience.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation activities and programs, including their development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily recreational programs and activities for all age groups based on owner, member, and guest needs and interests, resort requirements, and seasonal opportunities.
• Prioritize and instruct classes, activities, and events, including special events, holiday programs, competitions, mixers, and other group activities.
• Monitor and evaluate recreation program content and prepare communications such as flyers, handouts, and postings to attract participants and promote interest.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and participation, identifying ideas to enhance programs.
• Provide outstanding service to owners, members, and guests by answering inquiries, providing information, and solving problems.
• Communicate positively with small and large groups during programs and activities, including using microphones in an entertainment capacity.
